would be cool if you got a 3d printer, tpu and printed your own tires/tyres.
Would be pretty hard compound
youâd be DocBob Jane T-Mart!
Yes there is, not sure of the exact details and a certain size for drones and gotta be in a club sort of thing.
I fly on private property where there is nothing and I sure as canât get 30,000ft altitude to annoy the airliners. Only air assets are the power line checking contractors and they always notify when in the area so I donât fly then as they are 80ft off the ground. Windy which it has been for about 4 months straight I donât fly as you can kiss your light foamie goodbye.
Iâm due for another plane, just waiting for it to come in stock. Oh yea and some money lol Crashed what I had beyond repair, only so much you can fix them up. Why I stick to cheap foamies and just have fun with it.
not necessarily. theyâre airless they donât need to hold air or worry about air pressure. the inner structure of the tyre has to simulate the same pressure⌠i think
the drone i had showed a bit ago you definitely had to register it.
Remember spending months helping my Cousin on their farm in Coorow build a Cessna, only to have it crash and burn in the stubble paddock only seconds after its maiden flight take off.
Note to future self, check ALL servo orientations and exercise ALL controls on the ground BEFORE you take off
maybe check the wind direction too.
Thatâs interesting, can they do soft flexible off road tyres weâve been mentioning above?
I wouldnât imagine anything 3D printed could be as soft/grippy as the INJORA type compound rubber tyres
itâs still being prototyped by big corps but a lot of clever individuals are doing it for bike tires.
i guess it depends on what durometers are available.
I checked in with the nearest flying club which is quite a distance away and said I was fine, only for drones which I donât do drones. Got enough toys as it is
I have seen them, but struggle bad with side/cornering loads and a few other issues thatâs holding back their development.
They have these as replacements for the old foam inserts in RC Hobby wheels/tyres these days and are quite popular.
Iâd imagine that would be a problem too trying to keep them on the rim.
airless tyres are like what electric cars are to petrol cars.
I was eyeing those off and watching a few vids only couple days ago. Seems they are a step up on foam inserts.
I have to run hard foam, quality inserts on my 29CC Baja as they can self destruct. But these trail trucks are different, slow and flexxy.
$50 for a pair. About the price of a Landcruiser
Interesting bit of mucking around with the MN82âS woefully bad stock rims/tyres.
Found the stock WPL C-64 Hilux rims and tyres suit the MN82 just perfect
More modern Alloy Rim looking design, cool centre caps that mimic the floating/locking hubs of the real LandCruisers, and are just a bit larger than the stock MN82âS rims/tyres giving a bit more of a 35" Muddy kind of look thatâs very close to scale
Thatâs the other beauty of this hobby, MOST parts are interchangeable inbetween models and brands⌠unlike another hobby we all know!
Iâve seen some cool footage of RC subs in swimming poolsâŚ
Only problem is the frame speed needs to be slowed down because they actually motivate pretty quickly underwater.
oh the red october would be good too.
