Yes they are just so soft where the hex head should lock in and they’ve all ready been munted from the factory.

No big deal I am used to it. I whacked in an imperial driver just to get that bit extra I needed. Good design and look good, poorly executed unfortunately.

Now I have to go through everything to replace all that. Not up to my standards.

Went for a drive today and had a crash

Blue tongue came up and started licking it haha.

Glad I put the bullbar on! :ok_hand:

Gave him/her a lil treat afterwards as they help keep the snakes away.

Judging by the 1/16 Scale, you need a DINOSAUR Bar, not a Bullbar! :hushed:

Must have smelt like a Succulent Chinese Meal to that old fella.

You should of seen the bunch of goats this morning that decided to move in. I had work to do but I was thinking 7.62mm. I’ll leave them be for the time being… just in for feed and water and only 10. Goat stew might be on the menu :joy:

Bloody oath mate, coming from my parents running a goat farm for years, highly recommend them! :yum:

Easy as fuck to catch over the dry summer months.
Just chuck a water trough and a bit of feed inside a small fenced/gate able inclosure and reap as many as you need!

Goat curry… ah hell yeah. :+1:

But then I’ve always had a thing for the more gamey meats.

Love a bit of roo… venison too. You can keep your cows for milking and your sheep for shearing.

Never tried venison, the Kiwi shearers go mad over it. The Pirsa officer I spoke to recently asked me if I’d seen any Deer about as they are tracking them moving down from north.

I said only Dear I’d seen is the bloody power bill, and the council rates.

Plenty of Deer in the hills around here, which originated from the stockyards I used to work at where you’d always get a few escaping the trucks whilst unloading or jumping fences and running off up into the hills.

Bad enough dodging Roo’s when tearing around on the gravel backroads let alone the odd large Deer or two!

They taste okay, but very dark/rich meat, not really my taste… give me Roo, rabbit, goat meat anyday :ok_hand:

Oh so it’s your fault

Seems like everything is moving in. Got a smorgasboard in my back yard.

Much better than having nothing and going hungry!

Yep no Coles or Woolies for me  They are no where to be found anyway even if I wanted them :joy:

Just realised it’s been a while between updates, due to my recent injuries, but still trying to tinker wherever I can manage it.:+1:

Got the White C-24 back together with an aftermarket motor after chopping the axles the same narrower width as I did with the Red C-24.

Today been tinkering with the WPL C-54 '70 series LandCruiser adding a stronger 31T 370 motor to replace the stock 230 motor.

Got a sweet aftermarket high powered brushed ESC/SBEC as well, but might save it for something that needs a bit more grunt than this one does.

That is killer, love it. The onboard BEC 3A should do the job. SBEC is just a brand name last I knew bit confusing I know.

They are good these days just need to watch the on board ESC with Bec, some are just crap.

Looks shit hot. Nice progress. Wish I can get some time on mine but got some of that work to do and as Arnie says. I’ll be back. I have to do more burnouts

Yeah there’s BEC, SBEC and also UBEC that I’ve heard so far, and as you say, just different names for basically the exact same thing.

Much more grunt than the stock 0.5A circuit boards!

Time for some bling. Out with the old…

Put a bit of Loctite 609 on the 650 bearings. Not that is really matters but they are the supplied bearings and loosy goosy, got sick of them falling out every time I turn the gearbox over  Like a dik in a bucket.

After some work stuff got in the way back to it.

This was the motor mount adapter plate to space the motor out so the pinion and shaft doesn’t foul the opposite side of the gearbox. Trouble is there was only one countersunk screw included. I thought oh cool I got some of them.

Wrong. Counter sink angle is different. Thought fine I got a countersink bit use that, but nearing break through still wasn’t sitting flush. Sooo

Out with the grinder. Should have just done that to start with  Oh well bit of fun anyway :+1:

Awesome work mate, and just like the Gelbaster hobby, aftermarket parts definitely still don’t “just bolt straight on” :hushed:

It’s something that I never mention other than simply stating “plenty other modifications to get this to work”, which has also involved drilling/countersinking holes, shortening bolts/screws, shortening motor shafts, swapping pinions, filing down 2.3mm motor shafts to 2.0mm, flipping diffs, shortening driveshafts, lengthening wires, rewiring electronics, modifying steering links etc. etc. etc.

Nice to see that you have got it all together and can’t wait for the updates on the performance. :+1:

Have heard nothing but good reports about those MN82 outrunner motor/gearbox conversions.

Biggest PITA is finding room for the RX/Brushless electronics, wiring, motor/gearbox clearance and batteries.

Not so much an issue in massive 1/12 to 1/10 scale vehicles, but feckall room to play in 1/16 to 1/18 scale stuff… especially if you have WPL’s with non opening bonnets!:face_exhaling:

Gotta love that Chinglish on the packet in the picture above that states a whole bag full of DEANS connectors as “J9 Metal Ladders” :hushed::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Again, more leftover Gelblaster parts that are coming very handy in this particular hobby! :ok_hand:

Not only that, Doc…

They made “metalladders” all one word. :joy:

I wonder what our translation to Chinese looks like

Throw another shrimp on the screw
