Got 4 or 5 of these on the way too, just to use with the stock combination receiver/ESC electronics on the standard models to run the motors separately from the original piss weak motor power Wiring.
I just found this on AliExpress:
AU$13.14 | 20A 30A Brushed ESC RC Motor Micro ESC for Mini 1/16 1/18 1/24 RC Car Boat Tank w/Brake
Again, this is just an example of these products… I only paid $3.05 each for these
Yeah that’s definitely the fine print where people come unstuck
Advertised as 2S/3S, 4-6 cell batteries, but rated by Lithium Ion Battery outputs, not LiPo…so will let the LUCAS smoke out real quickly if connected to LiPo batteries
The Flyueace unit is a good product for the price, properly rated for 2S/3S LiPo/Lithium, switchable between battery types and active braking, and has nothing but great reviews, whereas those other cheap little plug-in units are for an entirely different purpose.
I’ve only got these little units coming for what I stated earlier, to plug into the standard electronics using the standard Lithium batteries on the standard tin can motors, but just offer better low speed control and provide full power to the stock/aftermarket motors from 130-380 size through better electronics and larger sized wiring, amazingly powerful 5.7V/1A UBEC for their size…,…and again, nothing but 5 star reviews for what they are and how they perform in the setups that they are designed for
The only full modified vehicles I’m playing with is the current WPL C-64 HILUX and the FMS GLACIER Chevy Longbed when it arrives… all the others will be just pretty much stock units with some mild upgrades to the standard running components and appearance detailing to make them look more like a replica model and less of a cheap plastic kids toy
Cool it’s all good I read the link and saw in big red letters 2S Li-ION only. That’s all.
I usually do overkill so things don’t melt
That Clodbuster of mine. As I’ve got 4WS, locked diffs and twin 540’s on 3S it’s too much for an ESC BEC to handle so I put a standalone BEC in that to power the steering servos instead of frying the ESC. Works well for it. Thats a bigger beast though.
Some of the ESC BEC’s are a bit trash when the voltage isn’t up around 6v the servo is slow and don’t have the AMPS to turn the servo. Should be fine for the likes of MN these buggies we are playing with.
My Baja 5B is a different story, that needs it’s own 9000Mah Nimh pack to turn the $150 25KG metal geared steering servo
That’s a good quick outcome
One reason why I’m not as wary about buying stuff online for this RC Hobby compared to dealing with Gelbaster aftermarket parts suppliers, where every single transaction was a game of Russian Roulette as to what might arrive and what wouldn’t
Those disputed items I asked for refunds took 3 days from first message to money back in my bank account… can’t ask much more than that for peace of mind when buying stuff
Oh no always leave sleeping dogs lie. Golden rule.
Nice companion you got. What’s name? She’d loose some of that tubby trying to keep up with Mojo does kilometers most days. Cool friends and help do work as well.
I drive and he runs, cruises bout 35klm/hr these days
