What’s it look like looking down the scope?
with the above config…
1: you can see thru the red dot, unmagnified. unobstructed view. it sits up high.
2: look thru the magnifier…blur, as all you see is riser mounts.
3; Flip magnif to the side…you get a clear view, but no red dot.
when i get a new flat pic rail mount, and put the pistol red dot on, you get a good clear red dot, thu 3x magnif.
Looks good.
If only gel was accurate…

Got a flat Pic rail adaptor, and fitted the smaller pistol Red Dot…
It " changes the look"…but everything now (mostly) lines up.
A little bit of interference from the imperfect alignment, but 95% fine.
What you get now, is a super sharp, round, bright, compact red dot magnified.
I spoke to GBU.
My Acro Aimpoint must have been a bit of a dud unit.
Instead of a compact red dot…it was a horizontal line.
Medinchina tolerances…each unit varies.
With no magnification…it was acceptable.
Under magnification…it became a large, blurry, dim big wide blob. Unacceptable.
The G33 was also not focusing properly…blurry thru the whole range of motion. Again Medinchina tolerances.
To their credit, they are sending me a new ACRO aimpoint…posting it up.
I’ll take the G33 in next time im down, and they can swap it over.

It does look a bit different, with the smaller pistol red dot on.
At least it all lines up this way.
Easy to swap over, depending if you want game aesthetics, or a useable magnified red dot…
Now, just gotta find those blister heads…

I put a Sig Romeo on it…pretty much lines up as well…

Look better, with a beefier red dot on it.
Sig Romeo has a built in riser…so its pretty well aligned.
Not quite game accurate…but the better looking solution, for a working red dot.
The Sig red dot, is also sharp, clear, bright and focused…

I think you are meant to mount the magnifier under the flip up, not on top?

Haha, I don’t do much painting, let alone for others! My painting is limited to small parts, or the odd camo job for myself.
I do have a blaster I am planning to camo up once it is completed… but being mine I can’t say when I will have time for it!

In my defense…
1: Ive never mucked around with magnif before.
2: The first set, flip to the side, has you mount it on top.
3: I thought about it again today, revisted it, and got it sorted it out.
So, here is the correct setup, Magnif mounted INSIDE the mount…
REAR VIEW…DOWN
REAR VIEW…UP.
SIDE VIEW …DOWN.
SIDE VIEW…UP

When its down, you have a unmagnified view of the red dot, and magnif is centrally mounted, out of the way.
It flips up, overcentre, to the up position.
The problem now remains…the Acro is still sitting too high, when flipped up.
Pic below shows this.
Centreline of magnif, and red dot are not aligned properly.
This resulted from trying to mount a (clone) ACRO, onto a UNITY (Cheapo) mount.
The acro came with two bases…the raised base, and the flat base.
Problem is, the flat base is flat, no mounting grab bits. All flat and smooth.
Just two small holes in the base mount, facing vertically down.
designed to go onto a custom mount…which this aint.
The ACRO raised mount, had a pic rail grab base, so i had to use that initially…
I had to cut up some plastic rails , as a temporary adaptor.
The UNITY riser, has a whole bunch of holes…none of which line up with the ACRO holes.
So…what does it need.??
Its time to get Bi-Flexual …!!
Get a custom block of wood, cut to size, Drill it from both sides, for some Double Screw Penetration…!!
Yes, lets get these jokes out of the way now…!!!
I’m white wood, but identify as black PVC…!!
Mark with a centre-punch, before giving it a good drilling…!!

In all seriousness, it needs to lose the ACRO raised Pic rail base.
And the flat base to go on.
2 screws down, into the wood…other screws up, from the UNITY, into the block from below.
Screws 2/3 of the way in , so they remain concealed .
( im waiting for a Maiphut Epstein joke, on that one).
Cut to size, sanded drilled , painted black ( which shade.??) and viola.
Finally…should have a FTC mount, thats fully useable, up and down ( another maiphut joke), and game accurate.
Ive got sims coming up , need to study, so it can sit on the backburner for now…
Various height alloy picatinny risers are all over the interwebs.
You should be able to find one that’ll put the red dot where you want it. 
The trouble is , the interface between the red dot, and the riser.
They are not compatible…and thats likely to be the case, for most others.
Also… a waste of money, buying all these different risers, hoping you get the golden ticket…
This setup is close.
Lose the high Acro mount, use the low one, and get a block of wood to be the double adaptor.
Its a small block, painted black, you wont even notice.
I found a piece of wood, thats almost perfect…
I’m glad @RokSolid picked up on that mount, as it was doing my head in knowing that something simply needed flipping, but my brain wasn’t engaged enough today, no matter how many times I flipped my phone screen around, I just couldn’t quite pur my finger on it!

i actually sorted it out too…
i went back to it this arvo, and had another go…
I realised it was the wrong way around…
then, i got caught up trying to get the bases / heights right…
i even tried a “universal adaptor”, i got for the RMS mounts on the P320.
Nothing lined up. torture device.
Thats when i realised a small custom wood block was probably best.
I want to use that Unity riser…its large, hollow sides and similiar look…
No… you employ a little technique called “measurement” first, then you.buy the right size. You don’t buy a random selection and play lotto.

But if the compatibility’s not there, then moot point.
Yeah, that’s what I was getting at…
Mind you, most risers on Ali /Etsy are Unity brand …so the same interface.

Time for a bunnings snag, you say…???
Whoops…grabbed that block of wood, and viola…!
All Done…(Almost)!!
Perfect height.!!
The block of wood was pretty much the perfect width…just needed to be cut to shape.
Tap in some holes ( soft wood) and predrill a bit, for the 4g 16mm self tappers…
Holes in, paint it black, hairdry, and some flat clear on top.
Height is pretty much right.
Top of the magnif, pretty much lines up with the bottom of the red dot.
Extended, its all aligned quite well.
Centre line of magnif, aligns with centreline of red dot.
The only problem is…
The red dot is a little laterally offset, on the top of the mount. (facing left a bit).
This will need a bit of adjustment and re-drilling…but ill wait till i get my replacement Acro aimpoint first.
Whew…bit of an ordeal…!!
At least with the " low setup" …flip2side, and sig romeo…everything is perfectly aligned.
This one should be able to get pretty close when adjusted…and be game accurate.
Its been a bit of a extravaganza…and the torch still needs fitting.!

It gets extremely frustrating when Businesses advertise products through pictures alone, without giving any specific measurements.
I already know what I’m looking for and what it looks like, but without measurements, I just keep on searching!
My Eyecrometers are pretty finely tuned and accurate, but a couple of pictures on a screen just doesn’t cut the mustard when it comes to parting with my hard earned.
