Resident Evil Gelblasters...( or, Gotta Getta Beretta..!)

Plenty of experience with water slide decals over the years, especially with this Aircraft hobby these days!

As @Friendly_Fire mentioned, thin printed waterslide decals are adjustable when first applied and wet, then can carefully press/blot down the surface using paper towels to remove excess water to get them to hold/set, just don’t “wipe” them as they get can move or tear.

Thicker Vinyl type stickers can be applied with water and detergent and squeegeed out to set, as they are a lot more durable and have a higher grade adhesive backing than waterslide decals.

Yes, for the waterslide decal but this is a dry transfer decal which no water is needed

  1. Just cut the specify decal from the decal sheet ,
  2. remove the tissue paper backing,
  3. place it on the area you want ,
  4. rub firmly over the top of the plastic carrier sheet,
  5. then remove the plastic cover sheet
    That’s it all done

Yeah, but the decals Beemer’s talking about for his specific project are waterslides.

I would think a few coats of clear over the rub to apply ones would be advisable? It sounds like they apply much like the old Lettraset letters and therefore prone to rubbing off in time?

Here are the stickers to be applied ( hopefully)

They look to be a metallic finish.

I havent pulled them apart yet.
Outer surface looks to be quite durable…long term adhesion might be an issue…
Particularly with gripping / cocking.
( No jokes needed there… i can see them coming already lining up)

Rail scale Prevail…!!

Got the washers, 3x M4 washers per side, and the scale grips are tight, and parrallel…

OCD can sleep easy, tonight…!

Righto…from todays " Parso bag of tricks…"

1 x upscaled, moving parts Requiem…with a heavy 100% infilled front section( more weight)

2x Snapper slides and moderatrors.

The snapper slides are for practise / smoothing / removing the print lines.

Here’s a close up, of the first one…lines visible through the paint.

With prints being so cheap, its easy to get spares to muck around with, and improve upon. I can have ago of sanding / filling / painting these bits, and repaint the slides.

I know how to fix the blurry borders, and sharpen them up now.

A bit of fun, trying to get it right…

Here is the upscaled requiem…

Its got the moving hammer / trigger.
And, the front barrel is infilled 100% solid, to give it some heft and weight.
That was missing from the previous incarnations…

The first version (A) was …
A bit too big…no moving parts…pretty light weight.

The next version ( B) was…
a bit too small ( especially around grips)… and a bit light.
But, it had the moving hammer / trigger.

So, i got a downscaled version of A…this got the size correct.
This new one is a upscaled version of B… same correct size.

So, size correct / comfortable grip / moving hammer and trigger.

Time to get sanding and painting.

The top one is the airbrush painted version A.
It looks good…will do the same to the version B for a similar finish…

The airbrush finish, is worth the effort…

Finally ( phew!!) some ggod news for @wombat…

you may end up with a P226 , after all… if you’re interested…

I got the Sentinel-9 kit for the P-226.!

It was designed, for the electric Sig P226.
I got the kit, and was going to attempt to put it on a DB P226.

But…today…random google search…

I found the last Elec P-226 in OZ.!!
Snap…!! Gone…!!
The kit should fit perfectly on it.!

Which means, the DB p226 is now not required.

@wombat, still interested.?

I can offer it now, or a later date , if that suits your finances…

This kit is a great bit of gear.

The grip is top notch, very high quality item…

Smooth, rounded lines…

The clever designer even produced a extended , 3d printed mag…!!

There will be some painting required.
But, the B trigger and bits will all fit ( or , they should)…

The laser even works…just needs batteries…

The kit was very reasonably priced, too…

Wha Wha whe Wha, i’m very excite…!!

High Five…!!

All good.
No rush…it can sit and wait.

Mates rates too…

Now its a rare, and out of production item…i’ll only charge you double…!!

(kidding of course…!!)

Just gonna drop this here…

Also… laser battery takes 3x LR44’s / AG13’s.

So they’re not waterslides after all that? :confounded: Just stickers? :joy:

I think just stickers…

I haven’t pulled the backing off yet…

Not till all the bits have arrived and finished…

Being a metallic type print, they definitely are stickers and not waterslides!:joy:

so, what works best for moving them around.?

The soapy water.?

I dont know, if its all a one piece sticker, or individual pieces…

wont know, until i peel them, at application time.

Yes, a little bit of soapy water will help to allow to position them correctly, then press down with paper towel to get them to stick in place.:ok_hand:

If it’s the type I’m thinking it is, there’ll be a front and back backing film, you won’t need soap.

Peel the tape off the front, stick the whole thing where you want it on the blaster, rub, peel off the back tape.

Simples.

Time will tell!
