sly side project, to see if i can replicate that gleamy metal finish…
Here is the CO2 M92 i picked up from hippo’s 2nd hand ( thanks, @Friendly_Fire )
It was a cheapy, 2nd hand, metal base receiver the same as the other one i trial painted…which came up gleamy…
Out of the factory, this was " painted silver".
It also has the “whitish painted silver”, but is capable of gleaming…
The frame and OB are pretty average now…and the paint is a bit faded / tattered.
The outer barrel is showing paint wear marks.
A good excuse to pull it down, strip it clean it and repaint it.
I think the secret to the ‘shiny metallic silver’, is a strong black base coat.
I might even paint some plastic spoons while i’m doing it…
1 with strong black base / 1 with thin black base / 1 with no black base.
then cover with silver, and see the end results…
Hope to get it gleaming, like the practise frame.
I’ll also strip the outer barrel down to bare metal and polish… see how good it comes up…
Mind you, this is just a distraction project…
gotta get onto the Sentinel-9, still got that complicated feeling…!!

Yup…
Between work, looking after mum…
Fit in what you can, when you can.
Hours at work have dropped a little, so that helps…
Perth red eye, tonight…

Sentinel 9…
over 6 hrs today…just to get it opened, old trigger out, new trigger in, old hammer out, new hammer in…
And all working properly.
Bloody tiny, fiddly springs…!!
That bend easily, and need to be straight, for everything to go back in…!!
its only in the depths of despair, when you are about to rage quit…
That you ultimately heat that ‘Click’ … !!

Talk about the Sentinel, you say…??
Hold your horses…!!
Or, at least, Hold your Requiem…!!
Holster from ETSY…pretty good overall.
The only thing is, the leather is a bit rough on the inside.
It will scratch painted 3d prints.
Thankfully i have one that is 3d printed in the metallic print material.
Its not scratching so far…scratch resistant material.
But, thin painted jobbies, stay clear…

Now we can talk about the sentinel…!!
Or at least , when im out of therapy for spring PTSD…!!
Man, what a exercise in frustration management…!!
As i said, it took over 6 hrs to get it apart, and do the hammer change / trigger change.
Those are the worst springs… tiny, fiddly , needing to be wound and inserted under tension…and flinging off.
The hammer spring was the worst… it had a bent spring which had o be straightened AND sitting perfectly flush to fit within the hammer enclosure.
Then, a through pin had to be inserted…one chance or start again from scratch.
Came sooooo close…so many times…
I pre widened the receiving hole, for an easier push in.
Thankfully.
Not an experience i would care to repeat anytime soon…

But, starting to look the goods…
The guy who designed this 3d kit is extremely good…
Its top notch quality, and fits on really well.
the grip slides on, and grips very tightly.
The medallion is very well designed and clear.

dont muck around with lipo’s…they can catch fire.
If you have a dodgy charger…bin it.
Try the lipo (if youre game) in something you can easily / quickly disconnect it.
But, the safest is just to get another battery…
general questions, are better posted in threads like " what did you get up to today.?"
Ok thanks mate and yeah i was juat pretty rushed in trying to figure out a soloutiion will post it in the what did you get up today thread next time thanks for all your help again bme hope your weeks been treating you well!

Paint log…
Tamiya Ts-83 metallic silver: Multiple coats, no primer.
Did slide, all switches etc except hammer.
Rear Sight: tamiya semi gloss black, bottled tamiya x2 gloss white, for sights.
semi gloss coat on top when dried.
Front sight: cover with green goop. brush touch up after painting…
Black: Tamiya XF1
Silver: Tamiya X-11
This kit is phenomenal value , with high quality 3d prints, fantastic looking, feeling and fitting grips, extended mag ( entire 3d print, with room for a battery), and trigger / hammer fitting flawlessly and functioning perfectly.
PTSD spring breakdown notwithstanding…!!!
But, now i know how to do it, so next time will be quicker…
Yes, i grabbed the last available Elec P226 for a spare…
The laser will require some fettling to fit… but internal mods on the internal rail.
I dont know why it doesn’t fit.
It’s the only thing that doesn’t…
The grips are awesome…great fit and finish…very tight.
The only space showing is underneath, near the rear beavertail.

The moderator is a very tight friction fit.
It doesn’t come off, under normal use.!
For around a $50 kit, this is an awesome bit of gear…!!
Whoever designed this, deserves to sell a gazillion kits…!!
Though, i think it was a passion project, for their own satisfaction…!!
Even the emblem is detailed and awesome…!!
3d print is okay…
But, there is nothing like having a proper , firing gel blaster version…!!
Non gas too, so no leaky headaches…!!
Comparo with the 3d print …

I dont know which is more frustrating…
Trying to beat a Capcom game…or trying to build a Capcom Blaster…!!
Both are incredibly frustrating, at the higher levels…
and give immense satisfaction, when finally beaten…!!
What do they say, about toxic relationships, and getting addicted to abuse.??

Okay…quick update…
a few mags through it, and doing the standard 190-210 fps using smaller gels.
And…
Shortest mag career ever…
Going 2 handed, i hit the big mag release lever, with my left hand.
Mag…dropped onto floor.
3D print…broken…!!
Araldite repair underway.
2morrow morning, will see how well it holds…
its a clean break, so…
Time for a spare mag…

And, you need to feed from the top…through the feed hole.
Anyway, for aesthetics , its back in one piece.
without a battery, it was always a manual mag.
The shorter elec mags work fine.
Time for a new mag…this will tide me over until they arrive…!
