@BME a daylight photo because it loses something under lights… let’s see how good your eye is…
Thanks heaps again for those S.T.A.R.S. grips, matey… I probably would never have built a Samurai Edge Beretta but they really put a bog stock pistol into a class of it’s own.
Red dot, recovered…
Or is that zombie blood…?
Looking good, the grips do pick it up…
Hopefully the silver will not tarnish quickly…
Mag still holding up okay…??
It is indeed zombie blood…
The mag’s still gas tight.
Red indicator courtesy of Tamiya.
I touched up the logo a little this morning and coated the entire grip with Tamiya semi-gloss clear.
Local guy’s got a hitman comp coming in for it, he orders a lot of stuff from iHobby so he’s whacking it on his next order. Although I am very partial to this Beretta in it’s short form.
Had a look at my RE kit, and decided, it was time for a RE concealed carry…
Being RE, i had to go for …this…
I think thats going to take 2 inventory slots…!!
Barry is not happy, he no longer the biggest show in town…
He was heard stomping off, mumbling…
" You might be bigger, but i’m better dressed…Plus, ive got a emblem that says i’m the only real S.T.A.R. around here…!"
Its a manual springer job, from ihobby, fires gels and little red darts, like the KEle’s…
Sorry, i mean to say it fires .50 cal , high powered, explosive tipped, flame rounds, which do 300 pts of damage on end of level bosses…and dont you dare suggest otherwise…!!
I’d ditch the herbs for that too
Barry Bites Back…!!
Not to be outdone, our boy Burton, is back with a show of force, in numbers…
With me getting my gen2 bits from overseas, i had idle, leftover gen1 parts.
Not for long… Build me a Bangin Beretta Badboy Blaster, Barry…!!
The new(!) Gen1 comes equipped with genuine walnut wood grips…
Blue insignia, and it doesn’t need semigloss…!! Made of bronze.! Shiny…!!
Gen 2 on top, Gen1 lower…
Extended mag coming…
I shudder with Dredd…
At the thought of going down another movie franchise path…
didn’t they make a new judge Dredd movie recently?
Go on… I dare ya… I double dare ya!
I dont need , the extra luggage…!!
Outside / full sunlight / full shine shots…
The real wood ones, seem to have slightly larger black grip area. The black grip, is very grippy. Slightly thinner wooden borders, as well.
The blue emblem is nice, WEtech dont sell blue grips, they are meant to be Jill’s colour…
Is anybody else interested, in the plastic RE grips.??
They are not expensive, about $17 US a pair…
If i bring in some extras, i could order a few more…
I’m actually tempted, to get my cat H, get a M92FS, and get a real Burton gen2 made up…
And, swap parts over, for a functional Auto-9…!!
Is it just a trick of the light or is the blue logo curved to match the curve of the grip?
The do look awesome.
Curved to match.
No protruding, tactile pieces.
Yeah, they are cool…
Got some coming, for my P226, as well…
(Not RE)
The plastic grips, do go down further (covering the mag), and meet around the rear.
These stop at normal height…
Now that’s a good project. Why I went Taurus couldn’t afford a Beretta was a thousand more at the time. Still ran the goods
Ok…
Recent arrival of the burton bits, has facilitated the construction of the 2nd extended mag.
It took a bit of sorting, but finally fixed.
The two burtons side by side…
LHS is Gen 2, full RE wetech / semi and full auto ( if you wanna waste gas).
RHS is Gen 1 ,converted TM frame with guarder kit slide. Semi only.
For the gen 1, it COULD be possible to fit the WE tech RE engraved slide, but it would take some serious modification / other genuine parts. For me, not worth it for now, for minimal aesthetic upgrade.
The mag on the gen 1 had to be modified, to be retained.
Normal DB mags fit and lock in, but the extended mag base sits a little higher.
This prevents the mag from sliding up, and aligning properly with the mag lock crossbar.
I had to file a mm of material off the top of the mag retention slot, to make the mag slot taller, so the cross bar would engage. Repainted with touch up pen.
Now, im just waiting (still) for the KEle upper slide to be cerakoted black.
The pot metal is still leeching oils, in the heating process.
Once its done, ill fit the 3d custom bits, and do a easy to find post for all the RE stuff, so any new members can have easy to follow steps in one place…
Extended mag, in a standard RE blaster…
Normal Berettas are boring now…
They are looking awesome! See what you can achieve when Friendly Fire does it for you.
Jokes aside they look awesome. Well done
