TEC-9 and a 3 day growth! (Or..Big Trouble, getting it in from China !)

If the TAMIYA Clear is still too shiny, any local Automotive Paint Supplies can provide flattening agent that can be mixed with clear coat finishes to get your desired effect :ok_hand:

Bunnings had a matte finish clear coat, think it was Dulux.

You can get a Tamiya matt clear

I’ve got some Rust-Oleum matte clear enamel,
And rustoleum custom lacquer Matt clear…

Will try on an older sample first.

What’s the secret to applying rubnshine?

I put on gloves, applied a tiny amount by, finger…
It dries in a blob instantly…

How do you apply it more evenly.?

Attempt No 1…

Better than naked black, but i still cant really apply it how i want it to go on…

trying to put the tiniest dab, onto the end of a cloth, and run it quickly over a large area, for a streak effect, rather than a blob…

Blobs still happening though…

Any thoughts.??

I’ve always loved this one, right up my alley. Robar(gone out of business then another is doing it under diff name) NP3 finish from 14 years ago. Fully sick.

Can only look and not touch in my cuntry. Happy switch n all and my fav UZI model. Sry for the cross models but the finish just love it.

Or get a happy Mcmeal

I usually put a tiny dab on the end of my rubber gloved finger and smear with a clean finger.

You’ve probably figured out by now that a little rub’n’buff goes a very long way and it’s easy to overdo it.

First effort looks pretty good though. Like you said, big improvement on the all black.

I under-STEN-d , I might need some more practise…

Oh yea rubber gloves, a dab finished with a rub n buff. Lucky I don’t misundersten  :+1:

That’s rub’n’buff… not rub’n’tug

But I can see how the rubber glove bit threw you… :joy:

Also, got the replacement charging handle, for the TEC-9.

The sten one screws in, this one doesn’t budge.
Looking closely, its not threaded.
I suspect it just drops into a hole, and is probably glued in.

I had to grind some material off the old handle, to get the bolt out of the barrel. Ive had no joy getting the old stump out.

I reckon it’ll be like pulling teeth…anyone know a dentist.?.?

Stump shot.

New handle, overlaying bolt.

.

Any good idead for getting the old one out.??
If it is glued in, soaking in hot water would help.

I suppose the old “screw a screw in, and pull it out” might work…any other ideas.?

I dont wanna drill it all out, and create a gaping crater…

My blind eyeballs can’t see shite in the pics, but I’m sure that @AKgelblaster can provide you with the technical details :raised_hands:

Got it out.

Tight as, but drilled in a picture hook screw, 10 mins soaking in hot water, manipulation with pliers, and its out… virgin socket left behind.

I remember doing my first tooth extractions, before 4th year dent , in a dental expedition in nepal…!!

So was it glued in?

Seems like a pretty silly way to attach something that’s prone to breaking?

No.just a very, very tight friction fit.

To reassemble, you can’t have the charging handle on.
You need to feed the back bolt down the barrel, and the handle needs to be off.
Then, get the bolt to the fully retracted position.

The wider circle allows a hole big enough for the larger circle at the base oft the handle to pass through.

It then needs to be heated, and several technical taps with a hammer, to get it in.

I reckon the factory guy hit it off centre, broke it , and just kept it moving down the line…

found you another tec 9 @BME :crazy_face::joy:

Looks like it’s 1:3 scale…

Is that ABF, walking down the aisle, towards you…?.

they also had mini mini uzi’s :joy:

if it is ABF they’re after the store owner not me luckily lol
