Mate, the tec-9 I had as a kid didn’t even shoot at all, by design of course, so whatever the results for the version I ordered are, I’ll be happy either way
But yeah definitely keen to see what upgrades/tweaks can be done, but I’ll leave that part up to the professionals
M416 has the hop up available separately on their website, I considered purchasing it but it wouldnt work with the silencer attached so not much point in my case.
It’s just a pity they most likely haven’t made the led light silencer version to enable it to charge glow gels to use in conjunction with it, would’ve been the perfect opportunity to do that with it, simulated muzzle flash will have to do I guess
A mag solution, came to me this morning, re MP-9 mags…
with the tec-9 mag (T9), its easy to remove the internals, and cut the outer mag down to size. That then leaves cutting down the internal electrics and feed tube, then rejoining the wires and feed tube successfully.
The MP9 mag is virtually identical to the T9 mag, except a teeny bit slimmer overall. The internal feed mechanism , is pretty much the same …just smaller.
SOLUTION: cut the T9 mag down, use the MP9 internals.
No cutting and resoldering of wires , or rejoining feed tubes.
The MP9 is a tight fit into the T9 mag…but gets there. Friction fit will keep it in place, though you can also build up the bottom of the motor, to fit snugly against the base plate. This would stop any rearwards movement.
MP9 mags are readily available and cheap…
@shadow187 , this could be a easy solution, if you wanna avoid soldering…
Haven’t used that brand but have used other epoxy putty in adapting gen 8 gearboxes into A1 Steyrs.
Some of them (from Bunnings) don’t work well with some plastics. The JB weld one appears to be designed for plastics but not sure where you would pick it up (Edit - found it at Jaycar)
If it dries to about the same hardness as the plastic it’ll be fine. Some of the epoxy putties for metal are not good for plastic because they dry too hard and are too difficult to file and sand.
But that one looks like it’ll be easy to work with.
Yes the flaming device is included in the new version. Price will be good and we will be stocking this model in Australia, USA and here. It is our goal to make the sports easier to access for new blood, and more affordable for everyone to enjoy the fun.
For a start, the working time is NOT 20 mins…more like 2…
You feel that heat, and it starts to go off…
Also, its very sticky/tacky…sticks to your gloves.
Hard to manipulate , and get into a very fine amount.
It ends up going on chunky, and your trying to remove before setting, and smooth it in.
I struggled with i, on the practise plastic offcut…and ended up not using it.
I was trying to keep the inside of the mag clean, so the internals can slot in easily…
I got from bunnings, some Loctite Plastic Super Glue.
I don’t think I’ll go to that LENGTH with the mag,
The extra gels retained will work better for myself, I would expect you’d lose maybe 15-20 gels of the magazine’s capacity by shortening the mag, give or take
But yours definitely looks much more accurate to the correct mag size.
To take apart, start with the cocking lever, and the exposed screws.
There are 2 more screws, under the outer barrel, up the front.
To release the outer barrel, push the release button, on the underside, forward of the trigger. The barrel pulls forward, and then can pivot upwards and out. Took me awhile to find the button…
