Apparently new laws for p platers coming in soon. No phones at all sounds fair enough until you read the fine print and it’s illegal to have your phone connected to a head unit for music or google maps (nice they are bringing this in after I spent 350 on a head unit 
) also curfews on when your legally allowed to drive like wtf ? I don’t give a fuck what road safety statistics or bs there trying to stick to this one but any restriction of movement or curfews or any shit like that is tyrannical.
Well that’s fkd, I do long k’s and do a lot of business calls on road on the hands free head unit.
So the answer is just sit at home and be a couch potatoe. Fks sake. Or wait until you are 90 and can’t see it anyway.

The p plate laws are alleged now apparently fcking news websites went from 100% to alleged now apparently. Supposedly going to be across the whole country tho don’t know what labours beef is with people my age. Kick us out of all the hobbies, promote inclusivity whilst pushing division, make groceries or moving out of home impossible and defect the living shit out of clean cars. IDK not just a vic issue no one’s poop chutes are safe this time around

Saw it being debunked a couple of days ago - no reputable site is reporting anything so I’m guessing its most probably online hysteria.

It’s just Australia’s logic make revenue and punish everyone for the small majority of dumbasses who actually do the wrong thing. Road toll statistics have stayed fairly consistent for a while so just revenue raising going after it now
Thank fuck for that, still makes me a bit annoyed that those rules are something that’s believable from albo government.
I think traffic laws are largely set by the state (whom all base it all on recommendations from a commission) - that’s why I can touch my phone in a cradle in QLD but will be fined if I do the same in NSW.

Same here, can touch a properly mounted phone to answer calls on hands free but no texting or video, last I knew anyway. For SA.
They’ve brought in some mobile camera stations as well that are at the right height they can look down in to most passing cars and see if someones fiddling around with a phone in their lap. Then just send infringement notices out.
A mate was having a whinge recently his wife copped two speeding fines in the same place 56-58klm/hr in a 50 zone, on different days. 4 grand, he got them in the mail and slapped them on the counter, listen here lady what is this.
Looking at the recent Shanghai motorshow with Chinese made electric vehicles they have infotainment screens that go across the damn near whole dash to the passenger side. That’s ridiculous imo as it will distract you from driving. Just have a speedo and temp/fuel/ charge left or whatever it bloody runs on.
Oh its not just the new stuff from the motor show - most of the electric stuff from the last few years have been wall to wall dash screens at the front (and the back for the top models). Its always fascinating when I’m in a ride share traveling in china - do they have that short of an attention span or are in-car conversations not a thing anymore? I’m just looking out the window in bewilderment that the road we’re traveling on is the same road I’ve been on last year.

The only thing bringing in laws like that or imposing curfews on P-platers would acheive is giving them a reason not to display the plates.
And who could seriously blame them?

Trouble is with cameras these days. If the registered owner of that vehicle is not driving it, or a nominated driver as they read your number plates as you drive past. You will have to get a JOP to take your statement and they sign off on it. If they pick you up for whatever reason.
They don’t even need to display P plates as they get all that info from vehicle registration so you are fkd either way and just got another fine for not displaying them.

Fucking crackheads, man…
My partner Sammy was walking our two dogs this morning, walked past a house with a gorgeous kelpie cross in the front yard. She jumped the fence and made friends eith our two.
Thinking she was doing the right thing, she knocked on the front door to tell the owners their dog had gotten out. The bonehead who answered said “not my dog, bekongs to my girlfriend… and she’s a c*nt of a dog anyway”.
Sammy commented on how beautiful the dog was so the bonehead yelled back into the house “I’m giving your c*nt of a dog to this lady out the front because she reckons she’s beautiful”.
Sammy came home with three dogs… she put a spare harness on the kelpie and walked it back to it’s home. When she got there the bonehead said “You brought it back? Why?” Sammy told him we had shit to do and she’d call back later today to talk about their dog. She’s now in contact with rescue people to see if she can organise getting the dog picked up and fostered, anything to get it away from these two arseholes. Some people are a strong argument for compulsory sterilization.
I said I was going to go with her when she goes back but she doesn’t want me to… she knows me well enough to know that things might get ugly if the bonehead cracked up attitude continues.
Just be careful around those types, they can get ultra violent at the flick of a switch and on the gear unstoppable. But you likely already know that.

Sammy reckons they’re not crackheads, I think different. Whatever they are, they’re meatheads.
They’re utter arseholes to their dog who really is the sweetest and friendliest little girl… she’s still a puppy, about 8 months old. I walked over to their fence earlier when Sam.was talking to them about it and when I bent down to pat her she cowered on the ground. 
Eventually I got her trust and she was happy to let me scruff her up around the ears a bit. She loved it, got the dreamy look in her eyes. 
Easy to see what’s happening there.
