Just got another tax bill…
Couple friends got hit too. Crooks we already pay tax on everything you touch, nah we need you to pay more.
A friend is trying to find out how to pay his 20k ATO bill, oh well I can’t pay it as I have nothing to pay it with 
Bloody land tax.
As, on paper… determined by them… when your investment property goes up in value…
so does the land tax bill.
30% increase , in the amount of tax to pay, from last year!!
What this means, is that for the rent i collect…nearly 40% of it , goes in direct tax .
Lets not forget rates…they’ve gone up too on the goldy…
And, when you finally sell the property…capital gains tax to be paid.
The system truly is about endlessly giving to the govt…
And, as a eventual self funded retiree…you get no benefits from the govt, and keep paying taxes, till the day you die…
Rant over…!!
Meanwhile…netflix grosses what… 1.3 billion in revenue from OZ,
And only pays 10mil in taxes…

There is talk of bringing land tax now in on primary producers or something I haven’t quite looked at it properly. Great, bend over and get reamed some more Right now we are exempt from land Tax.
Had the same with my property in the hills.
Council Rates going up every single year, so I asked them why and what services do I get in return?
We had no drainage/road works on the single “road” going up to the property, where every winter the drains would fill up with gravel/branches/leaves etc and flood the road along with the underground phone junction box, causing loss of phone/internet connection for a month at the start of each winter.
We had no wheelie bins/rubbish collection, no Postal Service, no verge side collection or bulk waste services like every other rate payer in town… in other words kept hiking up the rates with absolutely ZERO Shire services being given that everyone else in town was provided with.
“Oh but we give you a Tip Pass”, yeah like fck you do, it’s listed in the breakdown of my Rates Notice that I pay $490 a year for that Tip Pass that you are “giving” me in return for fck all other Services.
I have a mate living up nar Obi Obi who gets slugged every rates collection for curbside garbage collection… and that’s a service they never have and never will actually provide because his property’s on an unsealed road.
Takes his rubbish to the tip.
Good ol’ Sunny Coast Council… arseholes. 
I know you get it. Much the same here, I have no water supply, a janky power line that got installed in 1970’s and has not been upgraded or maintained properly why I had to buy a decent FUEL powered generator because the show must go on regardless.
Then they give me 5 vouchers for a kitchen bin of not hard rubbish to dump at the nearest council dump that is 80klm away. Fuck it I don’t care I use it all as fire starter and burn everything.
Grade the dirt road after I sent in a formal complaint last year as my shock broke and the fucking exhaust fell off and wrapped around the diff.
But in normal circumstances they grade it 1 time every 12 months anyway, the cockheads even state it on their new woke funky website. But’s that’s ok they engaged an Artiest to spraypaint the silos for millions of dollars and another artiest to weld up a pile of scrap and put it there in the nearest town that kids can’t play on because they will get tetnus and loose a limb, it’s just a pile of scrap metal some fool reckons it looks cool as he spent time and welded all that shit together.
Had a meeting, I said could you use that federal funding to supplement us farmers buying hay or fertilizer. Nope, we gotta spray paint the fucking silos with pallets of spray cans and weld some scrap together and go oh that looks pretty. Fkn wankers. I should stop paying the council rates as they do absolutely zero and provide no services to me. Made the local town look like a dump. They do nothing for people that pay the money.
I’ll be in there one day to have a yike, I’ll strip the suit off that smug fuck that runs it and he won’t know what hit him. The office ladies will get a laugh out of it as they are wifes of my friends.
And bingo, I have around 50 that stay around my house, I water them on the back lawn when it’s 45c, they have never swooped me and I get within 15ft of them when they are doing the morning rounds getting bugs and things to eat. I like their tunes they play in the morning when I’m getting going.
Yep, our magpies are like bouncers around our place… keep the crows, plovers and Indian minahs away beautifully. They never swoop us… only ever seen one nope-rope around here too, but I reckon that’s the trains more than the birds. 
Although we did stop feeding them and the butcher birds because of all the bird dookies left all over the back deck.

Our magpies and butcher bird families line up on the kitchen window when it’s time for food. Feeding times have increased now that the fire-ant poisoning has reduced the insect population. It’s enjoyable to sit and listen to the magpies singing and fun to play catch with the butcher bird family. Relieves the stress created by the screeching A320’s as they turn overhead now that the lazy SOB’s at ASA have reverted to the old flight paths as the community consultation period has ended

They’ve been found in donated hay to SA from Queensland. Are they getting on top of them do you know? I guess the poisoning takes out the other insects too.

Always got along good with the local Murder Birds 
Probably something to do with the fact that 2 houses and the property I had in the Hills were all purchased from the same old mate over the years, and he always fed the Maggies and big Lizards with proper wildlife food mixes every day, along with putting out the Lint from his Washing machine/dryer out on the fence posts during nesting season.
Problem was that I never continued the habit, as I think it somewhat trains the wildlife to become reliant on humans and interferes with their natural teachings of their offspring.
Sure they would all still hang around the properties and were always friendly, but at one house, they would actually open the back wooden screen door each morning and come and steal your bread out of the Toaster if you left the kitchen unattended for a couple of minutes. 
Tried to find the shot of my Magpie population lined up during a summer cool off on my back lawn. It’s somewhere in my backups, but anyway I’ll take a new one this summer
