This home affairs application form is dumb, I have put my applicant details in the form as in my name and address, but it won’t let me goto the next step, and it won’t let me add any other details in the list at the top, license and authorisation etc, stupid fkn thing
How are they going to have an application form that you can’t even fill out? Ridiculous
I have already submitted the b709a for the spare magazines I’m trying to get, which are not available in Qld/Aus hence why I’m attempting to import them

Ok so got past the first part but now I get this “Import test type” list to choose from and can’t go any further as there’s nothing suitable to choose without providing information not relevant to gel blasters
All I want is a couple of spare magazines, it shouldn’t be this difficult to import a fkn toy magazine, I can only imagine the frustration of the major retailers with this nonsense

Since these aren’t actual firearms very little applies to our toys… and it’s less clear what they actually want from them let alone satisfying any of them.
You should only need b709a for the magazines… but it will depend on how the abf feels on the day.

No way. What has happened is your parcel with one thing didn’t get inspected or the ABF officer didn’t deam it to be seized.
If you lose one thing to that process… well it’s only a small dollar loss for that one handguard, receiver.
Many are running that gauntlet, many always have. Low risk high reward.
No jam say 50 gearboxes in a box or two and see how that goes. They are going to inspect that. And then it is not just $50-150 for one lost item… it’s thousands of dollars.
Sure it may make it through. They are legal in the state… but basing the price off the next load may be total loss… not fair on the end customer.
Hence why most of the importers are holding off until we can find a clear and plausible path forward.
