I reckon he would being hot rod central in USA!

Already have three mates in the USA who have been trying to convince me to go work for them for years……. but unfortunately this broken body ain’t up to that kind of work anymore

Pretty good spread though, with one on the East Coast in Washington State, another nearby to LA on the West Coast and a mad mate who’s living more of my kind of lifestyle in the middle southern State of Tennesse :sunglasses:

@Deadsquid Good news! I went and actually read the text of the bill, and the Vic Gov brief on their state version directly. As per usual the Youtube pundits are spreading incorrect information, and getting angry about misinterpretations.

For Victoria specifically;

For federal stuff:

80.2H Public display of prohibited Nazi symbols or giving Nazi
salute
A person commits an offence if
(a) the person
(i) causes a thing to be displayed in a public place; or
(ii) makes a gesture in a public place; and
(b) the thing is a prohibited Nazi symbol, or the gesture is a Nazi19
salute; and
(c) subsection (3), (4) or (7) applies; and21
(d) subsection (9) does not apply."

The D part is important, because.

(9) For the purposes of paragraph (1)(d), this subsection applies if
reasonable person would consider that
(a) the conduct mentioned in paragraph (1)(a) is engaged in for a
purpose that is:
(i) a religious, academic, educational, artistic, literary or
scientific purpose; and
(ii) not contrary to the public interest; or
(b) the conduct mentioned in paragraph (1)(a) is engaged in for
the purposes of making a news report, or a current affairs
report, that
(i) is in the public interest; and
(ii) is made by a person working in a professional
journalistic capacity.

Trade is also still legal.

Dumb legislation, I saw this on Youtube the other day. Don’t agree with it at all, and for the record, I’m no Nazi.

Reading all that, I would think that the category of “educational purposes” pretty much should cover most private collectors. Doesn’t seem it would be difficult to justify any display as having that purpose.

It’s all in the context… historical displays seem to be legal, history is a sub section of education, after all. Would be an issue if you displayed your Nazi era memorabilia while you’re goosestepping down Bourke Street Mall chanting anti-Semetic slogans though.

Wonder if they’ll ban white bedsheets next because certain racist groups have made them and white conical hoods symbolic of African American subjugation?

Sweet the first time Victoria has ever been reasonable which means I can go and import some more cool pieces.

I already have a disclaimer at the start of my Nazi mask video that states the video is for historical purposes only so I’ve covered my ass on that aswell

Hey Squiddy…

little hint,

Do you speak on your videos?
I seem to remember in the last one, you didnt…

As a minor, you can protect your identity, by not showing your face, and just talking, in a voice over…

I don’t doubt your knowledge of the gas masks, why not share that with others?
Interject some of your knowledge…people who watch it, would want to know…
A bit of personality, and humour, also goes a long way…

“signing off now, the real reason for my collection…IBS bathroom break.!!”

something silly, with a repeatable catch phrase…
Something to think about…

You mean a catchphrase like “the second best gel blaster channel on the tubes”?

Good advice though… seriously. :+1: Catchphrasing certainly worked for Low Guido.

How cool is Airsoft
Beats running around hiding behind pallets

Yea they get to do some cool stuff, been watching swampsniper, full on worlds created at his airsoft field like the rev series they run.

Can’t mistake the voice of @KickingMustang!

It’s insane how this bloke travels all over the world playing Airsoft in many different countries and many extreme fields to be experienced.

They take this stuff pretty seriously, which is the only thing that I don’t like about watching his videos, is how insanely deeply serious people take this game and act like they’re playing for sheep stations/get easily upset when the game doesn’t go their way

I think I much more enjoy the fun side of friendly Gelblaster skirmishes with good people having fun and enjoying themselves without the seriousness and drama found in many Airsoft battles.

You should see some of the other milsim players, take it so serious they go all out on nvg’s and that, youtube was recommending me some guy who seems to live in their gear or something silly and goes far with it, watched like 5 seconds and closed it, the comments are all ego stroking about when shit happens they will be ready for it cause apprently shooting people with little plastic balls means they can kill a person if needed.

True with the ego thing. On the other hand Taiwan civilians are training with airsoft in case that day comes they will have some idea what to do instead of none when your existence is in danger.

Taiwan i understand fully but i mean the american players who are so deep in it thats all they talk about it seems like, only milsim youtuber i can handle is jet desert fox, he doesn’t go over the top but also explains what the hell is happening.

The video i mentioned, youtube recomended it again.

I’ve watched/followed many different Airsoft Players Channels over many years, but don’t think I have ever seen this blokes stuff before, so I will check it out and see if it rings any bells……. Cheers :+1:

I can see their point in this sort of thinking, and really isn’t far off from being in the Boy Scouts or joining the Army/Navy Cadets like a lot of young people I know have done and are still doing it :+1:

Plenty of very useful skills are able to be learned that will definitely make you a much more resourceful and strongly resilient person in any situation that you might find yourself in one day.

These situations are often more common than most people might think.
Perfect examples here in Australia are people who break down in the middle of nowhere, get lost in the bush or could be a victim of a helicopter/plane accident that puts them in a very awkward and remote place until they are found or able to find their own way back to civilisation.

I certainly taught my kids plenty of bush survival skills, how to read a compass, how to find their direction from the sun/stars, which direction they would have to travel to find civilisation, how to look out for certain birds/plants/geography to find water, different species of plants/animals that can be eaten etc all from a very young(kindergarten) age.

This is because we live in the bush and spend most of our spare time camping/travelling out in the bush, it was very important that they knew what to do if they wandered off from home/camp and found themselves lost.

This MilSim type of thing is pretty much the same, where people get to learn how to carry/pack/lug gear around, what they need to survive a few days playing games out in the different environments and how to look after themselves with knowledge and building up good physical fitness required to do such things :+1:

The tactical skills side is also great for awareness and being tuned into the environment around you, and hopefully not because you are running from the Law or fighting against a Government gone mad!

@saph
I have a lot of MilSim type equipment, but this is because not only using it for Gelblaster games/weekends, but also gets plenty of use for all of the time that I spend out in the bush hiking and camping anyway :+1:

Harnesses/webbing are great for light hiking, whereas the other gear is essential for long distance hikes over many days and nights camping out in the hills.

Basic gear such as the Backpacks, Hoochie, Para Cord, Fire Striker, Camel Back, Face/neck netting, quality ex ADF Shirts/Pants, good boots, sleeping/cooking gear, survival equipment, medical packs etc etc are all extremely useful and affordable for such excursions……. which is a no brainer, because this is obviously what the Governments spent a lot of money to develop such equipment for in the first place! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So I love the skills and equipment of Milsim, but I don’t necessarily enjoy watching the “Toy Soldiers” who take it to the extreme level to the point where some of them brag that they have more skills and knowledge than the actual trained Military Soldiers themselves

I do enjoy watching videos where actual Military blokes jump into these games and totally annihilate these types of idiots though! :joy:

Fox green, new channel liked might watch a few more vids cause they are not over the top as some

@DocBob Yea i get what your saying and i hate the toy soldiers that try hard and just fall flat on their face, its why i like jet from desertfoxairsoft since he served and is very open about it while making good vids, The vid shows it well on both sides, his experience vs the casuals who where eating and the others behind him just taking a stroll.
