Of course, the tennant couldnt even be bothered to use my old cordless leafblower, which i left down there, even though she knew i was coming…!!
Anyway, the end of the weeds, gunk , and grungy pavers.
The concrete fits in well, with the white tiles…
Exposed aggerate concrete, was one third of the cost of a plain slab, and tile on top…
32MPA concrete, so it’ll outlast me…!!
I’ll get some concrete sealer, and give it 2 coats…for the slick, glossy, wet look…and no need to gerni, just hose it off…
So, the garden… i asked them when backfilling the retaining wall, to only half fill with rocks/gravel, and leave enough room , for soil on top.
Of course, they filled the whole lot with rocks. ( the problem of not being there, and able to oversee…!!)
Will have to (pay to) remove some rocks, and plant a few trees.
the trees wont grow too big, as limited soil was limit their growth.
I reckon a lemon tree in the corner ( had one previously), a bottle brush ( attracts birdlife) flame- bush (green, turns red with sunlight), a few larger succulents, in the corner. Then , smaller succulents over the soil , and mulch over the rocks, to finish ground cover…
Then, attend to re-tiling out the front…phew…
No-one likes paying the bills, but is satisfying to see a crappy , messy, shitty looking backyard, transformed into something nice…!
Not that i wanna sell it, but the house would have been unsellable before… with the rotten timber retaining wall, and loose pavered, dirty garden…
Well, not unsellable, but anyone would pointing out faults, and wanting a huge discount.
This work, removes any ability to critise the property…
Transform the worst part of the house, into the best…!!
Last time Dad was around, he stubbed his toe, and nearly tripped, over a loose ( root displaced) paver…I reckon he’d approve of the setup now…!!
