What Did You Get Up To Today?

That’s something that only a wanker could like,
So I say to the seller “jog on, on yer bike”.
Cos blokes at my age look foolish enough,
When we’re rockin’ on stage and struttin’ our stuff.

If I walked out with that, I’d get booed off the stage,
It’s not quite in keeping with my advanced age.
There’s jazz and there’s blues if we wanna fit in,
Old farts bangin’ metal? Some think it’s a sin.

But I say “sod off” to the sayers of nay,
If I wanna thrash metal I’ll do it all day.
With powerchords ringing full force and real loud,
To fire a reaction from the sweaty crowd.

And if it brings boos, loud hoots and snide chuckles,
I’ll happily spray the offending fuckknuckles,
Who rudely call out “Go home, you old dag!”
I’m a damn good aim with my colostomy bag.

Then I’ll brain every one with my Zimmer frame,
For calling me old, out of touch and just lame.
Cos I was in there before the “mosh” was a pit,
And when you’re my age you just don’t give a shit. :metal::metal:

RIP Pete.

… and here I was thinking that @BME was the only one who could spit rhymes :hushed:

Nice tribute mate, hats off to you

Got the receiver parts to round off my M16A2 build.

Isn’t it weird that nobody makes a proper M16A2?

Head over to the “introduce yourself” thread and am looking forward to hearing your story in this hobby :ok_hand:

They are a mighty long boi compared to the standard M4 A1 ?

Cyma make one, but I love the M16A2, and A4. Also want to make a dissipator at some point, M16 but with a m4 buffer tube setup.

I got a bit of designing and printing done.

Aug top rail infill:

And SR40 muzzle to protect and hide hopup:

Both prototype quality, but turned out alright, might just light sand and leave it.
Otherwise just had a last day off recovering from good things festival yesterday. It was a scorcher, 35°C and humid, not a bad day or though.

The teachers and headmaster here will accept your piss poor excuse under the circumstances of actually living life and hopefully getting up to plenty of mischief

A dissy would be neat, but I imagine it’d be troublesome to source barrel parts. 16", but with the gas block located right by the muzzle. I’m not sure such a thing exists short of chopping it yourself.

Anything is possible in the modern age of 3D printing and modifying the crap out of whatever the factory got wrong! :sunglasses::ok_hand:

I believe it is exactly the same length as an A1. I simply like the look of the A2 better. Besides, I’m an awful contrarian and the A1 is a lot more popular…

I initially hoped to be able to just 3d print the upper, but there are simply zero airsoft M16A2 upper files on the web.

That’s true mate, which is why I posted the pic of an A1 first and then the A2 second.

There’s no difference in the length, only the design of the handguard!

People don’t realise how long these things actually are, way outside the normal M4’s, AR’s, SKD’s etc.

Always great to see someone chasing their dream Replica to the best detail that they can replicate :ok_hand:

Man, it doesn’t even fit in my rifle bag. Not unless I take the birdcage off.

There is one more thing I want for it - an EBBR gearbox. That, I think, will really complete the build.

Going back through old memories, here picking up my Daughter from school in a 1928 T-Bucket and getting back to opening the door up and driving into my Hot Rod shop after a cold and windy ride back

You can tell straight that this is nothing out of the ordinary for my kids to have such opportunities… this was just a standard pick up from school by Dad in all sorts of crazy different Hot Rods and Muscle Cars :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The M16A2s ditched the triangular handguard for the long round hanguard, a round forward assist button instead of the A1 teardrop and changed the grip over from the A1 straight style with a lanyard hole to the A2 style grip you see on most ARs today.

Apart from that pretty much identical until they went with a picatinny flat top receiver and three round burst on the A3s, then ditched the burst fire mode and ran a fishbone handguard for better accessory mounting on the A4s.

I’ve got an A1, A3 and XM177 on the wall. An A2 would be a very welcome addition. Love that integrated carry handle on the early M16s👍

Makes you wonder where you’re at with this hobby when you do stuff like this…

  1. JM MP5K, cut off the tri-lug and 14mm CCW thread to shorten it up.

  2. Realise that you actually want to mount a suppressor for that tacticool look.

  3. Bore out the tri-lug you cut off and the front assembly of the MP5K to take a connecting ferrule.

  4. Get that tacticool MP5K look.

Tomorrow I’ll probably want to change it around again.:rofl:

Came back here to annoy you lot

Nah, worked on my fishing bakcpack making sure stuff was put back in after ripping the thing apart trying to find one soft plastic image, got bored of looking at cars for sale so loaded the forum and x-forces site, might just take the credit card down to x-force next year and drop the cash fianly on a blaster and figure out ways to get to fields later (the joys of being stuck on my learners with no car, its mostly public transport for me because i went for it after getting out of school and covid hitting.).

Not sure where you are, but you said “down to X-Force” so guessing northside somewhere. :man_shrugging:

Just saying, anything you can get from iHobby you can get here at Oz Gel Morayfield… usually for a good price too. Might be easier for you if you’re on PT.

but you said “down to X-Force” so guessing northside somewhere.

Sunny coast, worst public transport of the whole system and a train line thats taken nearly 30 years to be touched (if it comes at all that is, when they lay the first rails ill belive it).

Will take a like at oz gel, do you happen to know their site? im getting 5 diffrent ones for them.

Oz Gel & Tactical currently don’t have a website up. You’d be looking at the old one.

He is on Facebook though, quite proactive in the gel community, especially with the young kids. Runs training programs in firearm safety, etc with badges for levels of achievement, etc.

It’s a funny little setup, but the guy that owns it is very old school in his business model, doesn’t sell online, retail over the counter only.
I’ve known the owner for about five years, he’s a great bloke, got a pretty loyal following, doesn’t suit everyone not being online but he’s five minutes up the road for me and my goto retailer… well, my only goto since M4A1 shut up shop.

Whatever IHobby has, he’s pretty much got… or can get. :+1: and he’s open on Sundays until about lunchtime.

BME’s been there once or twice.

With the speeding ticket to prove it…!!

I don’t know if it’s true but I was once told there were nine speed cameras on Morayfield Road between Lindsay Road at the south end and King Street up the northern end. I’d believe it, lotsa hoons around here.

It only takes one to make that trip for an M90 spring a very expensive little trip, hey?
