As @Friendly_Fire states, not much of a website but a champion and great guy that is best in person.
I remember visiting his shop in his shed many years ago and disappointing I can’t get down there very often.
Sunny coast is pretty disappointing for gel suppliers these days. M4A1 Nambour has some great lads there that are doing what they can with their owners having no stock. TGB in Maroochydore is overpriced AF… kinda targeting the tourist market. Urban gel ball has a good little shop with some cool stuff.
I am at this stage thinking about doing a boxing day run to X-Force and or Tac Edge, grab a lift if you want @saph
Does heavily depend on if I am working though, which is one of the joys of working for critical infrastructure. Water can’t stop!
And yes… There might as well be no public transport in Sunshine coast. It’s always been a pathetic at best effort here.
Homestead Road… that’s where I first met Brent. Great bloke, very honest.
When everyone else was quibbling over warranties Brent would sell me a blaster knowing full well it was screws out as soon as I got it home. Only ever got two that had to be replaced but never a problem.
Thanks for the offer, sadly ill be in sydney for boxing day because visiting family for xmas.
Main part that sucks for pt is getting to fields and that with a giant case that screams weapon, ive had enough troubles doing it with my archery gear before and over zelous bus drivers and station staff to the point i printed off that my bow is classed as sporting gear in aus and is allowed to travel on buses and trains aslong as its in its case.
That is sick. I love that style of MP5. From some game I played in my youth, Tom Clancy game had that exact setup, think it’s the MP5K PDW that was made for the US Seals or something like that.
M16A2’s came out with the dreaded 3 round burst. So did the initial M4 as the US Army was using upper only kits to transfer from the M16A2 to the M4. The Army later got the upgraded M4A1 which got rid of the burst for good and the US Marines went straight from the M16A2 to the A4 which was auto. Marines like their long guns for marksmanship.
I remember the news footage when US first went to Iraq. Aircraft carrier footage with a line of soldiers on the deck with their M16A2’s shooting targets on command in burst. January 1991 as we just not long had Christmas and my Uncle was with us said here they go.
Ever had a big payment you’re processing at work and you just emailed the lawyers and accountants and the boss and get them to triple check the amount and they replied with confirmation of the amount?
Well, ever had them all blowing up your phone 5 minutes after they’ve approved the payment amount and you processed the payment to say the amount was wrong?
Yeah, that’s my day today.
It was idling roughly, and under full throttle it would only go to 4000rpm, hesitate there, then go to 6000 rpm and no further. Max normal rpm is 7600.
Also, some water in the oil…
Did all the minor trouble shooting, changed the plugs (1 a bit rusty), all the same.
Took it to the mechanic, and did the following…
Changed oil and filter.
Drained fuel, checked fuel system, all ok. fuel pressure good.
Fitted new throttle position sensor and idle control unit.
Removed exhaust, pressure tested exhaust, all good, no corrosion.
Service on valves ( should have been done at 100 hrs, out a bit)
Still having the same problems…
Im thinking its an electrical problem, which is harder to track down.
A new ECU is very expensive, 2nd hand they are about $250, so i reckon thats a cheap gamble to trouble shoot a major electrical component, which could be causing the fault…
The revs go to exactly 6000 rpm and no further.
They sit there stable…they dont surge / hunt…
Easy peasy… but then his sister was in a mad panic having bar staff call in absent an hour before a big Xmas Function at the local Club tonight.
Dickhead me mentioned that I might be able to lend a hand, as have my RSA, worked in Pubs for years, almost finished my Managers Certification and had nowhere else to be tonight.
This is all fine, except that I’m dressed in a very much faded and holy old tank top, ragged board shorts and surfer joe thongs… stinking like a polecat after a whole day of working in 34⁰ heat, and also only had my prescription Sunglasses with me and would take at least 4 hours to drive home and back to get what I needed… only an hour before the event was scheduled to start.
So yeah, I did the righty and pulled a 4 hour shift behind the bar by myself blind as a bat, looking like an idiot wearing sunglasses at night inside this flash modern building, looking like I’d just stepped straight out of the sand dunes, and to top it off… wearing my greasy old stained leather Bushman’s wide brimmed hat that I had to keep the sun off today.
To say that I was a very unexpected sight for any of these well dressed suburban City Folk coming up to order drinks throughout the night is a massive understatement!
My mate’s sister had to comment quite a few times that I had been dragged out of the bush from a couple of hundred kilometres away to help out for the night, which got much appreciation from everyone, especially when I layed on the whole country hospitality and banter with all of the customers…,…by the end of the night I was more popular than Mick Dundee himself!
