I heard all the Singularity boxes are being horded by some car nut over in W.A.

Building an ark. Looked up the specifications but canā€™t find any gopher wood

Noah,
What?!?
How long can you tread water?

An awesome bit.

Waiting for holidays to show up.

Interesting dayā€¦good things, and bad.

Good firstā€¦

For awhile now, ive been looking for some chrome/stainless screws for various grips. The RE Burton has chrome grip screws, and they add some bling to the lookā€¦

These are not easy screws to find, single slot screwdriver, chrome finish, m4, very short (6mm) and wide heads.

Ive been looking for awhile, found nothing, and finally got a box of 50, from a marine supply storeā€¦

Here is the gen 1 burtonā€¦all i had before was black screws.
They look alright, add to the ā€œdark blackout lookā€, but iā€™ve now got the chrome ones inā€¦

which do you guys like betterā€¦??

Also, a bit more M92 mix and matchingā€¦
KEle all silver upper / dark frame, with a better shot of the overseas timber gripsā€¦

These grips look good, some nice features on the timber, stained with old balticā€¦

Now the bad newsā€¦

@RokSolid you may be interested in this, if it occurs to youā€¦

My first seizure noticeā€¦!!

I ordered a spectre M4, and had a b709 in place.
It arrived via sydney, and ABF seized it, and i received the notice today.

I rang up ABF and explained the situation to them.

They said gelblasters were a prohibited import.

I said no, they are legal in QLD, i have imported several before with b709ā€™s, no problems.

I have 30 days to fill out a form B144 to contest the confiscation.

MERRY XMASā€¦!!

I will provide them the background, my previous importing history with b709ā€™s, the link to the gelblaster store, a copy of the b709 etc.

Hopefully, common sense will prevailā€¦

Thatā€™s bullshit, but also not uncommon

You do the right thing, get the B709 import approval before importation, and yet it still comes down to whichever Clowns that you get inspecting your package on the day :rage:

There are NO federal laws against the importation of Airsoft or Gelbastersā€¦ only State mandated ā€œlawsā€ against whatever they decide offends the uneducated ABF inspectors that happen to be on duty on the day

I wonā€™t go into details of the rollercoaster ride of inconsistencies with Customs/ABF decisions that I had to deal with over the years, but it all boils down to the luck of the draw on the day as to whether you get a legally educated inspector or an uneducated Karen looking through your orders and losing their shit if they find something that offends them personally :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Played some helldivers 2 with friends and been watching youtube camera reveiws, my wallet is so pissed.

BME thats utter bullcrap tho sadly not surprising if shipped to a banned state by the shipper ive seen this before with some stuff and whats the bet they are going to go bang the drums to media if you dont win. Surprisngly they can stop that but not the shit ton of vapes that still come in.

For the benefit of those unfamiliar with the process from here, this is how it goesā€¦

  1. DO NOTHING.
They confiscate the item. No further action is taken. No charges per se, but your name is on a record, for a confiscated import. This probably means you are subject to further scrutiny in the future, for imports.

  2. CONTEST ( Fill in form B144 )AND WIN.
Goods released to you. Unsure if name gets recorded. I dont know how likely this is, as they can see that you have a B709 when first inspecting your import. I suspect it likely depends on who reviews your form B144. Personal bias shouldnā€™t enter play, rather than adherence of the law, yet it seems toā€¦

  3. CONTEST AND LOSE.
Goods confiscated , and process as step 1 above.
If this happens, you can appeal by legal process.
The matter will be heard by a judge, but if you lose you will have to pay legal costs for both parties. The threat of that, would cause most people to choose not to take this pathway.

So, its important to be factual, polite and reasonable when filling in the form B144.
points to include would beā€¦

-B709 in place before order was placed.
-B709 still valid timewise, on arrival.
-History of B709 approvals with previous imports, showing compliance with the law.

  • Personal character, nil criminal history, responsible job, history of importing gelblasters / scifi props / bonafide collector / this model not available in Australia.

  • Previous models ordered with B709 have had no issues getting through.

if all thats not enough, i dont know what isā€¦
fingers crossedā€¦

My recent purchase from @AKgelblaster of the APC9K, has been cancelled. It did not leave Hong Kong due to the export customs not allowing it. I have a B709a, which is still valid for some time but the blaster canā€™t leave Hong Kong to Australia due to their local postal restrictions.
Currently exploring other options.

It is ridiculous that you have a b709a, and an uneducated fool in a mood can decide to seize your blaster. It is tough for importers and retailers, I can only imagine the feelings of a retailer getting a pallet or container seized!

Best of luck @BME and hoping common sense prevails.

Something funny is going on, in HK.

They never used to have issues, getting stuff OUT of the countryā€¦
Many other previous shipments have come through.
Sounds like someone in the chinese govt, is up to somethingā€¦

I spoke to @AKgelblaster about some Elec berettaā€™s i was trying to get into OZā€¦ same issues.

She is looking into perhaps partnering with some local stores hereā€¦there is a market for smaller volumes of the more unusual items, otherwise not available locally here ( Sten, APC9k, elec berettaā€™s , etc)

Who knows, when trump and his tariffs get into place, china may look at other ways to increase exportsā€¦

From what I understand single blasters are having major troubles getting to Australia at this time. Maybe larger volumes by different freight methods have less troubles from HK, plenty of retailers are still managing to get stock of Chinese blasters.

Who knows, hopefully it is just this months buzz word for their customs; and normal post of blasters can resume in time.

Iā€™ve ordered some more of the RE grips, hopefully they should be no problems.

I also ordered a gen 1 matte black RE upper slide, with the STARS engravings. Itā€™s all metal.

They donā€™t issue b709s , for parts.
I hope it doesnā€™t flag as a ā€œfirearmā€ part.

Letā€™s see how that goesā€¦
