What Did You Get Up To Today?

Monday: built a nerf blaster from 3d printed parts, immediately break it cos I didn’t let the super glue didn’t cure enough. No permanent damage.

Tuesday: fixed the part using 2-part epoxy resin instead of super glue. Let it cure overnight.

Wednesday: reinstalled the part into the blaster and it works. Printed a stand.

Tonight: print a 4 shell holder that mounts to the blaster.

Blaster packs a punch.

Nuclear chicken is on the list to be made eventualy since i still need to base coat another 10 or so blanks and buy hooks for everything.

Good news, got refunded for the OVONIC pillow cases after I sent them an Angry Face message and pics showing how their “performance” batteries looked after their very first use!

They are also offering to send two new replacement batteries after I provided them details of my requirements.

It also helps dealing directly with the Company itself, and not 3rd party retailers, which is something that I always do as much as possible, making warranties/disputes so much easier!

Also replied to their last question quite abruptly telling them that I’m not an idiot and have plenty of knowledge, experience and all the proper equipment to use LiPo batteries correctly!

Will wait and see what they decide to send out, and hopefully won’t be another couple of IED’s. :anguished:

Nice addition to the design mate, looking good! :+1:

Would be sus if coppas came about haha.

Plus I get sore arms from charging the blaster.

Far out…that thing motors!

I shouldn’t be surprised though…it’s had your treatment…

It’d give my JetSki a run for the money…!!

That’s only on 3S and definitely couldn’t hit full throttle at all on that water, which was way worse than it looks on camera, hence the amount of jumping and rolling in the video…very messy to watch.:face_with_diagonal_mouth:

In typical fashion, I only just stopped recording when the Hawk came swooping in fast from behind me with its Talons deployed and got within a couple of metres of the Boat! :anguished:

Can only just see a glimpse of it at the very start of the video flying away after its first swoop over my head.

That’s wild! The boat and the hawk!

I’m printing some storage/display stands for mags… started with ak style as I knew they be more difficult and as I have so many different types of them… the first fits j10r,and j11 mags like a glove… slight change needed for Rx/aps/double bell.

Got well over 100 mags, so the printer will be busy for months!

Nice work mate, more patient than me.
I’d be straight down to the Sausage Factory to grab a cheap laundry basket just to chuck em all into! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::rofl:

They are basically just piled on my bar at the moment, need more space for 3d printers and work bench!

Got the Thompson out for a bash, realised its battery had an xt30 connection and is a smaller sized battery…

Thought to myself, I wonder if this with fit the QBZ friendlyfire donated to my son… fkn tight fit, but yes it fit so loaded it up and emptied the mag

However the gen 8 mag I used in it didn’t quite lock in properly and kept slipping down just that bit and stopping the gels from feeding. Had to hold the mag in tight to maintain feeding. This was not the magazine supplied by friendly

@Friendly_Fire any tips on what I can do to get the magazine to fit better and maintain correct feeding?

Also only tried the Thomson battery on it due to the xt30 connectors having not been delivered yet to convert the battery I bought for it…

I’m assuming 11.1v would not be good to run through the QBZ too much without risking damaging the internals

Yeah that QBZ is the early one, you can tell by the ABS build and non-ambi mag release. Different gearbox to the later nylon build and probably wouldn’t play nice with an 11.1v lipo. It’d cycle but possibly not very efficiently. :man_shrugging:

With the mag issue, you might want to compare the latch slot in the problematic mag with the one that came with the blaster. There are often slight differences between aftermarket mags even if they’re all called “Gen8”. Sometimes those subtle differences are just enough to stop the mag latch from engaging fully.

The slot might need widening, or it may be a little lower in the mag case than the other one. If you have to hold the mag up into the blaster I’d guess the latter scenario.

Easy to correct though… you can either rework the slot or rework the latch itself, your choice. Personally, I’d be reworking the mag latch so that any other Gen 8 mag you use in it will fit and hold. :+1:

Cheers, I’ll definitely have to look into it, thanks

Just about finished reading this…

Actually sorry to get to the end of it… quite the eye-opening read.

A frank and honest no-punches-pulled account of Australia’s SAS, and 4 Battalion Commando regiment’s involvement in the war in Afghanistan… and a lot of things I was completely unaware of at that time.

Highly recommended. :+1:

Just had this strange random fella appear on my YouTube feed!

“Use your feelings”
Why can I relate to that so much

Caught up with my Farmer mate after selling off his Ewes in lamb to Theifs And Robbers to get their heads cut off for the masses to eat.

Quite a good catchup, while I’m re doing my shearing shed. I was thirsty so what was closest went down  :v:

That guy is an idiot… you can’t get good bevel to pinion shimming on an ACR or MP5 because your cant seen the gears!!!

Seen those comments on the GSAU discord many times over the years… even seen a guy hack up an mp5 and put an M4 grip on it because he couldn’t figure it out… blamed the motor alignment for the reason it kept chewing his bevel gears.

It is hard to brain problems sometimes, but never impossible!

Oh you still waste time with those super troopers. As I was told I’m too busy fucking sheep

Well I guess it does take some time . Fk knows  :v:
