I don’t speak the lingo. Sat there for 4hrs one morning reading stuff and my dumb arse meter hit rock bottom and shattered. Then I came back to reality when the phone rang for business, oh right yea stuff to do.
No doubt I did see some decent people on their for sure Just a friendly disclaimer
Been testing all blasters to build a spreadsheet of baseline fps to track performance from any changes
Pulled a stock CYMA/JUND M4 out of the cupboard, put on magpul front grips and a iHobby SLR hopup/flash hider. 300fps out of the packet. Had to double check fps so tested against my built CQB CYMA which pumped out 280 fps like it has forever. Sometimes you get lucky.
Also found out that you cant carry a metal enhanced DMR CYMA build if your arm is buggered
Got my phone screen replaced for the second time in two weeks
$240 the first time
$230 the second time
Had to find a different place due to needing my phone for work to complete paperwork and accepting next week’s allocations and the first place needed to order and needed the phone fixed today
The first place that I originally got it fixed had none of my phone’s screens in stock so went to five other places before I could get it fixed the same day
There was a story on sunrise, about phone screens…and the ripoff prices to replace them.
There is a movement in Europe, where customers are demanding user replaceable screens be sold, and phones made as to facilitate easy changing.
People are sick of being ripped off.
I hung onto my galaxy s5 for as long as possible.
It was the last with the user replaceable battery…another bugbear.
You could buy a replacement battery for about $30 on eBay.
I reckon apple charge a bundle, for a battery change…
I personally stick to $300 phones…Samsung for the win…
I use Oppo, they’re the poor man’s Samsung galaxy… I basically only wanted it for the 64 mega pixel camera for my videos.
Had it for around 3 years before having the replace anything on it other than the tempered glass screen protector
Must’ve gone through at least $100 worth of those but they were worth every penny as they got me there years without having to replace the screen
Definitely need to start backing up family photos and videos and other data, phone numbers etc though
The biggest problem was my particular model Oppo isn’t very common, so I’m told by the repair shops of course , so not many repair shops keep the replacement screens for it in stock
@Wombat thanks for that, I’ll look them up in future if I need my phone fixed in future, much appreciated
Saw this Squier Classic Vibe 70s strat hanging on the wall at the local Cashies… they clearly had no idea what it was, had it up for a smidge over $200… priced the same as an Aria strat and an Ashton strat. One look at the one piece maple neck and the staggered AlnicoV pickups and I knew what it was.
What an awesome find mate
Beautiful bit of gear and another example of the bargains that can be found at Cashies because they have no idea about the value of a lot of the gear they are selling.
I got my big PEAVEY Bass Amp from Cashies back in the early 90’s for $100.
It was only 2 years old still the current model in their range of Amps, but all Cashies knew is that it was 2nd hand bit of gear.
The employee told me that it had only come in the day prior and they hadn’t had the chance to “value” it yet, so had just thrown $100 on it until they could investigate the details.
I knew it was an $800+ Amp and thought it must have had issues or didn’t work, but I was able to grab a shitty Bass off the wall, plug it in and rattled the shop windows, so paid the $100 and walked out the door with it.
Seen the dude a few weeks later and said that the Boss came in after I had left and had a $500 Label to put on it, and he had to tell him that it had already been Sold.
For $100!! Gotta love Cashies when the karma bus comes around for them.
I know they work on 1/3 of the actual sale value when they buy, so I’m guessing whoever sold this CV to them must have gotten about $80 for it.
I’ll still sleep like a baby… not my circus, not my monkeys…
Wasn’t without an issue or two. Pickguard was warped and wouldn’t sit flat, a heat gun and two sheets of glass fixed that. The factory pickguard screws were off a little too, so plug and redrill there, all flat, all good.
Beautiful work mate, well worth the little bit of fiddling for the price paid!
Regarding the $80 thing, that’s exactly what I was thinking that the poor seller must have been given feckall for his Amp, as was a small Country town Cashies and definitely had no idea about Musical Equipment, but most likely everything about Power Tools and all the other stuff in the shop.
I was just in the right place at the right time, where the seller only came in late afternoon the day before, and I happened to be in there early the next morning before the “bosses” arrived.
An hour or so later and I would have been paying $500 for it for sure!
I’m going to start up a book on how long it takes to go boom, BME It’s probably using a car coil spring, you don’t get that high without Godzilla sized piston springs no matter how good the air seal is.
Knowing the quality of Chinesium metal, shouldn’t be long.
Just make sure you’re standing no more than two metres away from your nephew when you pull the trigger.
