What Did You Get Up To Today?

It won’t be the barrel. It’ll be the piston spring.

Sounds like it’s already upgraded… just set it up now so it doesn’t go boom.

Hmmmm… not sure who’s more deserving of the “Jackass Award” there… the target or the shooter.

Good to see you championing the “Stop & Think” program so eloquently, BME. There’s nothing like a bit of responsible blaster use… and that’s nothing like a bit of responsible blaster use.

He was happy to it…
He wore goggles…

No real harm done.
Other kids that age do sillier things…!

True that… that’s his defence…

Anyhoo… 'nuff said about that.

Yeah, hewanted to do it.
I gave him an out, but said he wanted to give it a go.

So, he had an out…
Anyway, he and his mates had a good laugh…which was the point…!
:rofl::rofl:

The dilema of what to do with my project strat now that the Classic Vibe’s made it kind of redundant is solved…

It’s getting a single black bridge P90 pickup in it, one volume pot. Stripped back bare. Pickguard is courtesy of AliX. Should look good with the custom bound neck with block inlays and it’s something different…

I do like different. :sunglasses: Just hope that pickguard makes it over here intact. :man_shrugging:

Or just make it go boom and use the other 50 laying around

You ditching the Selector switch too mate? :hushed:

Yep… only the one pickup, so no switch needed, Doc. :ok_hand:

P90s are really dynamic too, respond well to just volume control… roll off the volume and they clean right up. So no tone pot needed either. Like this one but with white pickguard and black pup and vol knob.

Should be gritty and nasty at full volume, but smooth and sexy rolled off. Who needs pedals?

So simple and back to basics… love P90s for that. :+1:

I too love just a bridge pickup and volume knob, never used the rest often enough to miss it.

Winchester 1873 arrived today from X-Force.

Not bad for $194 but not recommended if you want a Winchester that actually shoots gels efficiently… buy a Double Bell at $850 for that.

This one’s a springer, uses plastic shells, fires like it has prostate issues like the old XYL Python revolvers, is a bit sticky and hit and miss on the shell ejection but may loosen up a bit with use… not that it’ll get much of that. :man_shrugging:

On the upside, barrel and shell tube are metal, receiver’s metal, loading port’s metal, cocking action and lever is metal. So the weight’s not bad. The faux wood furniture presents well if a little on the thin side, and it looks like a Winchester… Stock buttplate is full plastic and feels it.

This is purely for a Western display of mine and at less than a quarter of the price of the gas DB Winchester, suits it’s intended purpose perfectly well. :+1:

Played with one when I worked at the shop, ordinary for shooting gels, but good fun operating it and having a giggle.
I wanted to grab one but the few they had sold pretty quick.

You’d think it’d be better with metal everywhere through it. Wonder how upgradable it would be

Very nice looking bit of gear.
A good price too for a functional metal lever action that will look awesome on display. :ok_hand:

Can always carve out some real timber furniture if you ever get bored and looking for another project!

Not very… I upgraded a XYL Python springer with a metal cylinder, upgraded piston, bigger spring… all it did was make it harder to cock.

Good looking piece, but only about 140FPS on the chrono, so eye candy only.

Cool to swagger around the house like John Wayne with it though. :joy:

Unfortunate that you can’t upgrade it but if it serves its purpose for your needs, it’s worth the ~$200

Looks like some Davey Crockett shit, I like

Now you just need a racoon hat and you’re good to go :sunglasses:

Nah, Winchester’s weren’t around in Davey Crockett’s day.

More like John Wayne…

Just gotta work on the ol’ Winchester spin without taking out teeth. :grimacing:

Here ya go :joy: :+1:
