Built another CYMA / JUND lightweight. Brewed some gels, but before I signed up for Blacksite game thought I’d update to Windows 11
Update killed the MasterBootRecord on laptop and guess what - the software needed to repair it is no longer supported by either HP or Microsoft. Another dead laptop until I can get a bootable hard drive replacement.
Rest of the weekend spent building new laptop - only to find out that I need to uninstall MS products before I can activate them on new laptop. No way to talk to MS to get the key reactivated. That and finding out all the sneaky stuff MS has built into Win11 to capture your data and force you to use their defaults
Probably have to spend more time finding a new free key and cleaning up the mess tha MS created

Any time I had to go near a computer, it was always teetering on the edge of getting thrown out the window or against the wall! 
I don’t like it when a machine doesn’t listen to you and arrogantly tell you “no, I’m not doing what you tell me and there’s nothing you can do about it.” 
Had a great afternoon catching up with an old mate that is an ACTUAL Pilot, shooting the shit about my love of RC Aircraft and our old experiences way back in the early 1980’s with Balsa Wood Petrol powered RC Airplanes. 
I’m going to go visit him again tomorrow to show him these modern Electric EPO Foam Models to compare notes about how much the hobby has advanced since those early days.
Won’t be able to fly them even though he lives up in the hills above town due to the dense forrests surrounding the area, but can at least show him what these large modern electronic “Foamies” look like compared to the old wooden gassers that we used to fly 
His stories about some real life aircraft situations are absolutely mind-blowing and is amazing that he’s still alive to tell the tales!
Neat. How things have changed. I still have an unopened balsa and doped paper rubber band powered Spitfire model that my father was going to build one day. Got that and his Cox powered control line Spitfire as well. Pity the engine has seized
Cheers mate, really appreciate your comments about the good old days of this RC Aircraft hobby. 
This was also the conversation with my old mate who’s an actual Pilot and our memories about the good old days of Balsa Wood and Glued Fabric Aircraft that we used to fly.
Related the story about how many scale RC Aircraft are absolutely shithouse due to the fact that weights and balances CANNOT be scaled down into modern Foam Replica Warbirds. 
Spitfires were renowned for having a very narrow landing gear spacing that made them terrible to try and land in real life, especially on Aircraft Carriers, and having the exact same scale details on an even lighter model Aircraft makes it even worse. 
The same reason why I am so torn about spending my money on my most loved Warbird of all time, the HAWKER TYPHOON/TEMPEST.
Yes they are actually available as an RC Aircraft Model, but the engineering design of the fuselage carrying a massively heavy and powerful Napier/Sabre engine simply can’t be replicated in a smaller scale RC Aircraft, making it extremely tail heavy/unbalanced and completely useless trying to fly one … which despite the high price of actually being able to own one, in reality it’s nothing more than an expensive display model that you would be relegated to sitting on a shelf and never being able to enjoy actually launching and flying it. 
He lamented that his own Father in his late 80’s hasn’t got back into the RC Plane Hobby simply to give him an interest and something to work on in his otherwise pointless “Groundhog Day” life.
That’s the whole reason I’ve gone deep down the Rabbit Hole of re- engaging with the whole RC Hobby, as the same with building/modifying Gelblasters … everyone needs something to keep their minds and hands busy, to live a longer and much more fulfilling life. 
Yeah sure that it’s got its ups and downs, but that’s much more challenging than having nothing at all!
