What Did You Get Up To Today?

I fear the fall.

Mums still in pretty good health, she’s stopped driving ( good call), still has reasonable mobility…but slowing down. Not as steady on her feet, she wants to reach out and hang onto things, as she walks, for balance.

A bit of a hobble in her walk…yet she refuses a walker.

She says " im alright"…and i reply…" Yeah you are …until you have a fall. Who knows when it will happen, but its a reasonable risk now"…grumble grumble.
She doesn’t always want to listen to me.

She is capable of living independently, but needs a few systems of backup.
Pendant alarms and cameras, would be a good call.

I see bunnings even have $50 indoor cheapies…i might try one of those and see how it performs…

Right as promised spoke to my verycool. @BME

D-Link. Runs through your mobile so you can see on that anytime, anywhere. That is the GO.

Also had a great chat and laugh :+1:

When do I get paid?

Spent yesterday cruising around the Peel Inlet/Estuary following my Sister checking out a campsite that she wants to spend a week at with the fishing rods and crab scoops. :sunglasses:

Even though we were brought up in the absolute paradise of the little fishing town of Mandurah from birth, I’ve stayed thafk away from the joint since we left in the mid 80’s as its popularity and population was growing exponentially way back then, whereas now it’s a City and 10X the size of the sleepy little town it once was.

Will be the first time actually “camping” in the region since I left, much prefering the Bush/Hills/Wheatbelt/Northern WA as my normal destinations. :ok_hand:

So anyrate, I scored a few more bits of camping equipment, as she was having a shed cleanout, so got me motivated to take the little camper trailer to the storage unit and empty it out, along with finding my camping equipment and reloading it into this little Camper, as I purchased it off my Aunt/Uncle, but have never actually ever used it!

Always done simple camping, with a swag, chair and an Esky, but my fkd back has put an end to being able to get up and off the ground anymore, so that’s why I decided on this tiny little Trailer to hook behind the Patrol if staying somewhere for any longer length of time in not so good weather, otherwise is the reason I’m building the GQ Patrol as a single seater camping Wagon for those long short stay trips. :sunglasses:

Got it unloaded/reloaded and unhitched again early this morning, mainly so I could get back up the Weir playing with my Toys before the weather turns to shite again tomorrow.

Goodonya mate, bloody legendary investigation work!

I have an endless supply, of squid ink for you…!!

Speaking of weather I’m booked in to shear my sheep next thurs friday. Stop your rain dance please, I can see two big blue blobs coming in the coast of WA.

Probably be the same for last 2 years and break up into fairies piss and I get fukall your honour again :joy: :+1:

Right I’m not helping you anymore. Cash only, I don’t wan’t what I’ve already got bottles of. Plus if you read some news they are all dead due to the algal bloom down my way.

Squid is dead RIP

You cant keep a good squid down.
But then, squiddy was never good. so…??

He’ll slink his way back…!!
Just mention M-60…!!

Just checked the Radar… it’s beautiful here in old Waroona Town as usual,

but there’s plenty of rain through Perth and the northern regions, along with your pretty little couple of blue blobs heading your way. :joy:

One thing I do know, Beemer…

They’ll always tell you they’re doing okay on their own until you find out the hard way.

When my mum spent the night on the bathroom floor, she was taken to hospital. Aside from a few bruises she was physically fine… but mentally? Not so much so.

She was hallucinating, seeing people that weren’t there, having scary episodes. Turned out that because she wasn’t really capable of responsibly feeding herself, she was suffering from borderline malnutrition, her lack of essential medication, which she often forgot to take even with Webster packs, was making her worse.

She went into respite at a nursing home while we looked at a permanent home, but the option to go back to living on her own was not given to her by the doctors. Didn’t sit well with her, I had to fly down to break it to her because I’m really the only one who can relate to her.

Point is, after a few weeks in permanent care, she put on weight, made friends and got a social life happening, her mindset settled and she stopped hallucinating and being so abstract with her thoughts. She started enjoying it, but right up to that point she insisted that she was capable of looking after herself. Now she concedes that she wasn’t okay to live on her own.

You definitely can’t take their word for it without an independent assessment by a professional geriatrician.

Nah he’s dead, some dood picked him up of semaphore beach last week. It was in the news.

See here he is

And here’s our leaders responce to loosing a multi billion dollar kingfish industry to Japan. $5 bucks for you, fuck head

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese sticks to ‘event’, rather than ‘disaster’, to describe SA algal bloom - ABC News

Here he is…

He’s always got M-60’s on his brain…

Lets see if he’s got one packed away, up there…!!

Woops , nothing to see here…

And, it turns out he was just faking, for some sick days at work…!!

That’s awesome news @Friendly_Fire

The other Grandmother on my Dad’s side developed severe Dementia after her husband died, and we went down a very different path!

My parents sold their house and all 5 of us (mum/Dad/3 kids) moved into the Grandparents tiny 2 bedroom Town Unit to care for her.

Was too difficult to place her elsewhere in an “aged living home” as she would continually “escape” and find her way back to the Unit!

We somehow all lived there together for 6 years before she finally passed, and we moved into a new home where us kids actually got a bedroom each instead of living on mattresses in the loungeroom for 6 years!

I’m glad that your mother didn’t go down the same path and found a new lease on life in a much better environment.:clap:

Yep similar thing happened to my Grandfather when I was staying with him on one of his exits of hospital and Pnuemonia bouts. ROH wheels Australia was 5 mins away.

I came home one day, what you up to, oh gotta pack my suitcase I’ve been called up to go to war, the train is there and I can’t be late. I’ve gotta go and he had his suitcase packed.

I said nah mate, hang on a minute I gotta get my guns because I’m coming too. Ok I’ll wait then :joy: Worked out alright the legend, miss him dearly and cherish the memories.

Was fitting up a Safariland holster set-up for the SKD 90two to run in a game next weekend

Looks like I’ve lost the contact from the torch that enabled the 14.8v operation.

Does anyone have a old SKD torch shell kicking around. Should be able to swap my electrics over

Thanks

I do, I have a couple but they’re missing the spring contacts… which is what you really want, hey?

I see X-Force are sold out of them… the last one I bought came from M416GelBlaster, the only place I could find them. :person_shrugging:

Maybe get creative with some spring wire and needle nose pliers? You could probably come up with a better arrangement than SKD did, those contact springs are a bit prone to getting damaged or lost as they are.

Thanks. Ordered replacement and the broken one is in the “projects I’ll get around to one day” pile

They’re worth keeping even if they’re broken. :+1:

One of the ones I’ve got that lost it’s contact springs ended up getting an upgrade LED and reflector cone, gives it a little more grunt over the woeful stock version.

Also took out the screw at the back and trimmed off the plastic moulding so that it slides further back on the frame and sits either side of the trigger guard like it should.

That one lives on a 3DG Glock 17.

So today was ripping off the “foam repair glue” on my plastic float surfaces, and it was a complete Failure!

My

Chucked some CA Glue into the area, but still wasn’t happy with the results. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I’ve now added some 100MPH Tape to smooth out the Float surfaces, but have a few brand new Float Sets in my collection if required.,:hugs:

Prefer to “bush mechanic” shit rather than replace, but have so many other models of aircraft on hand that there’s a massive opportunity to mix and match whatever gets destroyed in the meantime. :astonished::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nice one, I haven’t even opened the box of mine yet LOL she’s all go go go for awhile get this sheep work done. I’ll have time to play later in the year
